Ways to pay your rent

You can pay your rent online, by direct debit, by text, over the phone or in person.


There are lots of different ways to pay your rent, so you can choose the method that suits you. 


If you prefer to pay by direct debit

Direct debit is the safest and easiest way to pay your rent. By planning in a regular day that your payment will leave your bank account, whether it’s every month, every week, every fortnight or quarterly, you guarantee your rent gets paid on time.

If you prefer to pay online or using your smartphone

Use your online account – your Watford Community Housing account is the quickest and easiest way to see your rent account and make payments online. You can either log in and make a payment now, or register for an account to begin paying soon.

Pay through a website – pay online with Allpay by visiting their website here. You can pay using the 19-digit payment number on your rent card. For questions about your rent card, call us on 0800 2182247.

Use the appclick here or search ‘Allpay’ in the Apple app store or on Google Play and sign up to make quick payments from your phone.

Pay by text – Allpay also allows you to pay by text. Register to pay by text here


If you prefer to pay over the phone

You can pay using Allpay’s automated telephone service by calling 0330 041 6497 and having your 19-digit number on your rent card to hand. 


If you prefer to pay in person

Pay at the Post Office – using your rent card, you can pay with cash or a cheque at any Post Office.

Paypoint – across the country there are hundreds of shops which act as a Paypoint. Using your rent card, you can pay at any shop with the Paypoint logo. Find your nearest Paypoint here


If you prefer to pay by bank transfer

Bank transfers are payments made by asking your bank to pay us money. These aren’t automatic or reoccurring payments, and will only happen when you set them up.

Reference: Your tenancy number (a 10-digit number which begins with 600 or 700 – you can find it on your rent statement).

If you prefer, we can send you a standing order form for you to complete and send to your bank. 


Rent-free week

If you are not in rent arrears and qualify for the rent-free week, there are two weeks of the year when you won’t need to make a payment. In 2020, these weeks are the week commencing 30th March and the week commencing 21st December.
